Season of Advent

Devotional Resources

December can often feel like an overwhelming flurry of commitments and Christmas preparations. We race through the days, trying to fill them with all the earthly joys of the Christmas season. But in the midst of the busyness, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and drained. This Advent, we invite you to slow down and find true joy and rest in the real reason for the season. Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the birth of our Savior Jesus. He alone offers the joy and peace that our hearts long for.

To help you and your family focus on the true meaning of Christmas, we’ve put together a resource of free Advent devotionals. We pray this will be a blessing to you as you draw near to Christ and celebrate His coming.

All Things New

A gift to you from Martin Luther College, "All Things New" Advent devotional. In these devotions, we’ll see that through the coming of Christ – his birth at Christmas, his presence in our hearts through faith, and his triumphant return at the end of the world – God indeed makes all things new.  Click the link below for more information.

A Light Shines in the Darkness

This Advent, join WELS Women’s Ministry for a light-filled journey through Scripture. These short, daily email devotions will explore passages from the Old and New Testaments that reveal how God shines His light into a dark world through Jesus.  Click the link below to receive daily Advent devotions! The first devotion will arrive in your inbox on 12/1.

The Jesse Tree

Martin Luther College offers a wonderful children's Advent devotional called "The Jesse Tree".  Each day, December 1-25, there is a designated Bible story and symbolic ornament for your Christmas tree or on a specially designated Jesse Tree.  Follow the link for the free ornament printables and Bible stories.
