Psalm 31
Feb 25, 2026 • Pastor Mark Schutz
As we ponder the Psalms during Lent, know that Jesus was pondering them too on his path to the cross. Christ would be the fulfillment of all of these Messianic Psalms that were prophesying his suffering and death for our sins. As we cry out to the Lord, we find the answer to our greatest need in the Psalms, in Christ, crucified and risen.
Jesus quotes Psalm 31 as he dies on the cross. We consider the implications of “committing our spirit into the hands of the Lord” and the Lord bringing us into a “spacious place.”
